But shooting food for social media and blogging takes different skills than shooting for commercial and editorial purposes. Join food and travel photographer Liza Gershman as she walks you through the steps to create and edit food images that will get you noticed on social media. She’ll cover trends, styling, storytelling, lighting, composition and editing so you can strengthen your compositional eye and perfect your scrumptious images.

LIZA GERSHMAN
Liza Gershman, an award-winning photographer and accomplished writer, has nearly two decades of industry experience working in all facets of commercial and editorial photography. Liza’s extensive background includes creative and art direction, wardrobe, prop and set styling.
Specializing in lifestyle, food, travel and still life photography, Liza’s passion for cuisine, people, and cultures have given her the opportunity to photograph in more than 51 countries and 47 states during her career.
Liza teaches workshops for Canon USA, represents them at conferences, and writes photography articles for the Canon USA website. She worked as the Senior Digital Photographer for Williams-Sonoma, freelanced for Restoration Hardware, is a Getty Image Contributor, and has photographed and written 12 books for numerous publishers in the U.S., including Skyhorse Publications and Random House.
In 2010, Liza was Governor Jerry Brown’s campaign photographer, and in 2014 was the lead photographer for the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Team NZ2. Other clients have included celebrity chefs, restaurants, wineries, beverage brands, fashion, spas and hotels.
